Prospective Case Review of Contrast Agents Side Effects

Abstract

|
Purpose: As the number of CT case rose, the side effects from the contrast medium have increased. The purpose of this study was to review and analyse the contrast agent side effect on CT examination in our hospital during 2019.
Material and Method: We collected to contrast side effect form medical record system in seoul national university hospital. This data was analyzes to symptom of time dependency, premedication type and severity classification.
Results: From January 2019 to December 2019, CT contrase agent side effect showed 1160 case. Slight illness symptom was 86.21%. middle illness symptom12.24% and serious illness was 1.55%, respectively.
Conclusions: The CT contrast agent side effect case review process and understanding of symptom classification will be help to improve patient safety on CT examinations.
